Koch Chemie TropicSnow: The Snow Foam That Reaches Every Corner

Koch Chemie TropicSnow is the high-cling, pH-neutral snow foam that opens the Koch Chemie The Finisher wash workflow. Engineered in the Koch Chemie laboratories in Unna, Germany, TropicSnow is built around one principle: maximum dwell time means maximum pre-wash effectiveness. The dense foam clings to vertical panels for minutes, softening road film, bug residue and traffic grime before any wash mitt touches the paint.

Where cheap snow foams collapse off the panels within seconds, TropicSnow stays put. The German formulation uses surfactants tuned for paint-safe lubrication and a foam structure designed to encapsulate contamination, not just push it around. Use it as a touchless first pass before MagicShampoo, or as a full contact-free wash for lightly soiled maintenance days.

Why Detailers Trust TropicSnow

  • High-cling foam structure: clings to vertical panels for minutes, giving the chemistry time to soften bonded contamination.
  • pH-neutral chemistry: safe over wax, sealant and ceramic coatings. Use as often as needed without stripping LSP protection.
  • Contact-free pre-wash: dramatically reduces wash-induced micro-marring by softening dirt before mitt contact.
  • Concentrated formula: 50 to 100ml per litre foam cannon ratio. A 500ml bottle handles dozens of pre-wash applications.
  • Tropical fresh fragrance: distinctive signature scent that turns the wash routine into a sensory experience.
  • Made in Germany: formulated and bottled in Koch Chemie's own laboratories in Unna.

How to Use Koch Chemie TropicSnow

Foam cannon application (recommended):

  1. Fill a 1-litre foam cannon bottle with 50 to 100ml of TropicSnow, top up with warm water.
  2. Pre-rinse the vehicle with a strong stream of water to remove loose dirt and grit.
  3. Apply TropicSnow from the bottom of each panel upwards, ensuring even coverage on all surfaces.
  4. Let the foam dwell for 3 to 5 minutes. Watch dirt run off as the foam loosens road film.
  5. Rinse thoroughly from top to bottom with a strong water stream.
  6. Continue with MagicShampoo two-bucket contact wash for the cleanest possible finish, or stop here for a contact-free maintenance wash.

Pump sprayer application:

  1. Dilute TropicSnow 1:10 with water in a pump sprayer.
  2. Spray onto a rinsed, cool vehicle in section-by-section coverage.
  3. Dwell 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Pro tip: apply TropicSnow on a cool, shaded vehicle for maximum dwell time. Hot panels and direct sunlight cause foam to dry too quickly, reducing the contact-free cleaning benefit.

Important: never let TropicSnow dry on the paint. If the foam starts to break before rinsing, mist the panel with water to extend dwell time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between TropicSnow and a regular car shampoo?
TropicSnow is a contact-free pre-wash designed to soften and lift contamination before any wash mitt touches the paint. Regular shampoos like MagicShampoo are for the contact wash phase. The two products work together: TropicSnow softens the dirt, MagicShampoo provides lubricated contact cleaning.

Is TropicSnow safe over a ceramic coating?
Yes. The pH-neutral chemistry will not strip or shorten the life of a ceramic coating, sealant or wax. Use as often as needed.

Do I need a foam cannon to use TropicSnow?
A foam cannon delivers the best results because it produces the dense, high-cling foam structure that defines TropicSnow's dwell-time advantage. A pump sprayer also works with TropicSnow at a higher dilution but the dwell time will be shorter and the cleaning benefit reduced.

How long should TropicSnow dwell before rinsing?
3 to 5 minutes is optimal for most conditions. On heavily contaminated vehicles, longer dwell up to 8 minutes can be effective as long as the foam stays wet on the paint. If the foam starts to dry, mist with water or rinse immediately.

Can I use TropicSnow alone as a full wash?
For light maintenance washes on lightly soiled vehicles, yes. For weekly washes on daily drivers, the workflow of TropicSnow pre-wash plus MagicShampoo contact wash gives a measurably cleaner result.

Where is TropicSnow made?
Koch Chemie TropicSnow is formulated and bottled in Germany by Koch Chemie GmbH at their headquarters in Unna. The Rag Company Europe is an authorised dealer of the Koch Chemie The Finisher line for Europe.
